LOCATION
Guayaquil is located in the northwestern part of South America, in the coastal region of Ecuador . Guayaquil is the capital of the Guayas province and lies between the Guayas River and the Salado estuary.
Due to its proximity to the sea, Guayaquil is Ecuador's economic capital and the country's main port. Considered one of the most important on the Pacific coast, its location and infrastructure facilitate international maritime trade. More than 80% of the country's exports depart through its terminals.
